I normally trim a foot-ring on my functional ware, but occasionally I make things without them. You would think this saves time, and it probably does if you’re used to doing it. But in my case I spent the same amount of time tidying the bases of these as I would have done just trimming the foot-ring in the first place. I’ll be weighing up the aesthetics rather than time taken when thinking about doing this again.
I do like the colours of these. The cream coloured clay reveals itself as a lovely honey colour on the rims, which goes great with the dark green and turquoise found lower down. The drips are pretty epic too.
